We currently seek a Mechanical Engineer to support activities and projects in the Engineering Department under guidance of a Senior or Project Engineer.  These activities will support the planning, design, assessment, implementation and verification of wind energy projects on behalf of AWS Truewind’s clients.  

Responsibilities of the position will include preliminary wind farm and infrastructure layout, measurement system design and placement recommendations, and mounting arrangement design including CAD support.  The engineer will also provide support for project specific engineering analyses, turbine technical reviews and advanced turbine technology evaluations as required.  This position will also include various field activities, evaluation of site data, site feasibility and planning evaluations, and verification studies for the engineering department, as well as methods development and support of R&D efforts.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering required, Advanced Degree preferred.

Experience

Entry level position; no previous experience is required. Some relevant experience is preferred.

Skills

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, proven ability to work in a team environment, and CAD system knowledge are required.  Project leadership experience preferred.

Location

This position will be located in Albany, NY. Some travel will be required.
