Senior Project Engineer

We currently seek a Senior Project Engineer who will lead activities and projects in the Engineering Department in support the planning, design, assessment, implementation and verification of wind energy projects on behalf of AWS Truewind’s clients. This position is focused on leadership of key activities related to independent engineer and due diligence reviews for client projects.

Specific responsibilities will include leadership and coordination of independent engineer and due diligence reviews for selected projects, providing both technical leadership as well as establishing review program plans and managing assigned engineering team and cross-functional support efforts in order to meet requirements. Typical areas will include independent reviews of preconstruction plant performance estimates, reviews of turbine layouts, turbine technical reviews, advanced technology evaluations, contractual document review, performing field inspections of projects and equipment as needed, and estimating project capital and O&M costs. The role also involves proposal generation and report generation and review, as well as presentation of results to clients and representing the Company at conferences and industry meetings.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering. An advanced business or technical degree and/or professional engineering certification is preferred.

Experience

5 to 10 years previous experience to include a minimum of 2 years previous experience in a project management role. Relevant experience in wind energy, power generation/turbomachinery, or a related field, is required, and some commercial experience preferred.

Skills

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, proven ability to work in a team environment, and proven ability to handle multiple, simultaneous projects are required. Familiarity with due diligence process reviews, life cycle cost modeling, and project management software is preferred.

Location

This position will be located in Albany, NY. Some travel (typically less than 20%) will be required.
