Due to tremendous company growth and the expanding need for renewable energy sources AWS Truewind, LLC, a leading wind energy consulting firm, is currently seeking a Field Technician.  The successful candidate will be a hands-on person with strong attention to detail and will be a self starter. They will participate in on-site field activities for AWS Truewind to include overseeing the installation and commissioning of met towers, troubleshooting and repair of field instrumentation and monitoring equipment problems, and assistance with other activities in support of AWS Truewind’s consulting services.

This position includes travel to domestic and international locations (50% travel) and will involve work in adverse weather conditions and rough terrain.

Specific responsibilities will include oversight of installation and testing of meteorological measurement towers, instrumentation, remote sensing and communications equipment; inspect and document third party equipment installations; troubleshoot and repair instrumentation, data acquisition system, and communication system problems; specify and purchase monitoring equipment and related hardware ; Provide detailed documentation and reports on any site visits

This position reports to the Manager of Field Measurement Services.

Education

Associates Degree in a technical field preferred, or equivalent experience.

Experience

Two years of relevant experience in the field of renewable energy, measurement and instrumentation services, electronics or communication systems or field support is preferred.  Experience with electronic measurement and navigational (GPS) equipment very helpful.

Location

This position will be located in Albany, NY.
