AWS Truewind, LLC is currently seeking a GIS Analyst to assist wind energy project planning, provide spatial planning support, and implement computer application services. The individual will be responsible for acquiring, managing and analyzing data, creating high-quality static and interactive maps for presentation and publication, and using spatial analysis to identify potential wind farm locations and design turbine layouts.

The successful candidate will deal effectively with colleagues, meet deadlines, perform critical analyses of sensitive data, assess and validate model results, work on several projects simultaneously and communicate effectively.  In addition, the candidate must be detail-oriented and possess good organization and time management skills.

Education

Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in geography, environmental studies, or related field required. 

Experience

Relevant experience in wind energy or a related field is preferred. 

Software

Experience with ESRI, ArcGIS, applying spatial analysis tools, and working in a raster environment is required.  Experience with simulation modeling and knowledge of AutoCad and Idrisi is preferred.

Location

This position will be located in Albany, NY.  Minimal travel may be required.
